How to use the Milo website

Step 1

Take the Learning Pathway Quiz. This will tell you which topics are best to start with and it will give you the topic link(s). You can also open any of the topics from the Milo homepage.

Step 2

Once you’ve opened the topic, click the arrows at the top left of the page to open/close the navigation menu. At the top of the menu there is a topic progress bar.

Step 3

Once you’ve opened the topic, click the arrows at the top left of the page to open/close the navigation menu. At the top of the menu there is a topic progress bar.
To highlight/add a note to the text (annotate the text), select the text you wish to annotate. (On some devices, you may need to press and hold or right click.) An annotation menu will appear. To close the annotation menu, click anywhere in the black background of the annotation menu. The last icon in the menu is called "Enable/Disable menu on selection" - if you'd like, you can click this icon to disable the annotation menu from appearing every time you select text.
You can navigate through the different pages of the topic using the navigation buttons at the bottom of the page.

Step 4

Some topic pages link to downloadable resources. When you click these links, the resource opens in Google Drive. At the top right of the page is an option to print/download the resource.
MU offers a PDF computer programme called Acrobat Reader DC which is free for mu students and available through the AppsAnywhere website: https://www.maynoothuniversity.ie/it-services/appsanywhere
(Avoid opening resources with Google Docs as formatting may be lost.)
